Degreasing kitchen and shop floors with ECOFORCE HD

Grease on a floor is two problems at once: the film on the surface and the soil packed into grout lines and porous concrete. ECOFORCE HD is a patented multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser that is entirely free of solvents and butyls, yet it instantly lifts animal, vegetable and petroleum-based fats and grease and safely removes protein stains from any surface. Because it is a concentrate, you can run one product from a light daily floor mix up to a heavy fryer-line ratio.

What you need on the truck
- Pump-up or battery sprayer for applying the diluted mix
- Stiff deck brush plus a grout brush for tile joints
- Wet vacuum, squeegee or floor drain access
- Mop and clean rinse water
- Gloves, eye protection and wet-floor signage
Dilution: Published dilution for every EcoBlend concentrate: light cleaning 20:1, general cleaning 10:1, heavy cleaning 5:1. Daily floor maintenance usually sits at 20:1; cook lines, fryer aprons and shop bays are where 5:1 earns its keep.
Step by step
- 1
Sweep, scrape and lift the loose debris
Dry-remove food waste, metal shavings, sand and packaging before anything gets wet. Chemistry spent on loose debris is chemistry that never reaches the grease you are actually paying for.

Test a hidden section at 20:1
Pick a corner or a spot under equipment on the same flooring. Apply at the weakest ratio, dwell, agitate and rinse. That tells you the dilution the floor needs before you mix a full bucket.

Protect drains, cords and equipment
Position the drain path you want runoff to follow, move mats and mobile equipment out, and keep the mix off live electrical connections. Cover or unplug anything sitting at floor level.

Apply and work in sections you can finish
Spray or mop the mix onto a section small enough to agitate and pick up before it dries. Starting at the far end and working toward your drain or exit keeps you off the floor you have already cleaned.

Let it dwell, then agitate the grout lines
Give the product time to break the fat and protein bond, keeping the section wet the whole time. Then brush — grout joints and the texture in sealed concrete hold the soil that makes a floor look grey after mopping.

Pick up the slurry, don't spread it
Wet-vac, squeegee to the drain or mop with clean water and change the water often. Reusing dirty water re-deposits the grease you just released, which is the most common reason a floor feels tacky afterwards.

Rinse and check underfoot, not by eye
Rinse until the water runs clear, then walk the floor as it dries and feel for slick or tacky patches. Spot-treat those at the next ratio up rather than re-doing the whole room.
Mistakes that cost you the job
- Mopping grease around with dirty rinse water instead of picking the slurry up
- Letting the mix dry in grout lines, which leaves a dull film
- Mixing heavy 5:1 across an entire kitchen when only the cook line needs it
- Skipping the dry sweep, so debris soaks up the product
- Leaving mats and mobile equipment in place and cleaning around them
